Rolleston State School is located in the Central Queensland Highlands, 140km South East of Emerald and 70km South East of Springsure. The school provides educational services to a widespread rural community within the Bauhinia Shire. Many cattle properties and cropping farms surround Rolleston. The Rolleston Coal Mine is located 20 km from the township and is now in full production. Rolleston is the nearest town to the magnificent Carnarvon Gorge.
